Johnny “Football” Manziel on missing a morning session at the Manning Passing Camp, and then leaving.
Manziel 20-year old version-- “I missed a meeting, it wasn’t anything to do with the night prior. It wasn’t anything involved in that. It was simply the phone died, I overslept.”
Parents know the truth—He is sorry, he was late. Drank too much, got hammered, but had a lot of fun. Passed out after falling into bed at the hotel at 2:37am
Manziel 20-year old version continued—“…woke up the next morning, whenever I did, went in and talked with them (Payton and Eli Manning) and it was kind of a mutual decision to get home and get some time to relax.”
Parents know the truth—He woke up because he had to relieve himself, by the way-it was about 10:30am, had to go apologize to Quarterback Royalty, who told him to get his SH%& together, go home and sober up.
Manziel 20-year old version continued—“I’m not going into the details of what happened at the Manning Camp. We had social events every night, got a chance to really socialize, got a chance to talk with Eli and Peyton off the field. Got a chance to pick their brains, Archie, all those guys have been through so many experiences that are so valuable to us as College Quarterbacks.”
Parents know the truth—Lets just say I had a lot of fun, can’t tell you more because I’m underage. Social events with the Mannings are a lot more fun if you’ve had a few…they are kind of boring. They know a lot about playing Quarterback, but they need to drink more. I did.
I’m a parent of a 26-year old, 21-year old, 19-year old, and 18-year old daughters. Plus I’ve spent time around their “boyfriends” , my parent version is closer to the truth than what Manziel conveyed. He said what he should say… he did what he did.
