After coming off his fourth cup win of the season this past Sunday, Matt Kenseth stopped by the Mike Heller Show to talk about his season thus far and his homecoming next week at the Milwaukee Mile. For more information on that race, go to http://www.arcafest.com.
On season thus far:
It's a great start to the season. We have four wins already and we aren't even to the halfway point in the season yet. It's been pretty awesome. We've had really good cars and we've been in really good position to win a lot this year and we are thankful we've been able to pull some of them off.
On difference between Super Late Model car and Cup car:
There are a lot of differences. The Super Late Model is a lot lighter. Almost 800 lbs lighter actually. They are wider, shorter, lower to the ground, have a lot more down force, and have a lot less horsepower. They aren't as fast on the straight away compared to the Cup car, but they are a lot faster on the corners.
On return to Wisconsin:
I always enjoy coming home. It'll be a fun week. We got our annual fan club party on Sunday in Cambrige. Then I'm going to the Brewers game Monday night to throw out the first pitch. Then of course racing on Tuesday. It's fun to come back and not only connect with family and friends, but with a lot of race fans that you grew up racing short track stuff around that area. I'm really looking forward to next week.
