I think the Packers and Ted Thompson “missed” on Steven Jackson in Free Agency. Simple reason why?? If the Packers had addressed the RB situation with Jackson—they could let Greg Jennings walk and keep Jermichael Finley. Then utilize Thompson’s strength by hitting the NFL Draft big on Defense and Offensive Line help. Now—Green Bay may address the RB situation in the Draft…and I think that could have been addressed “affordably” in Free Agency. I am not critical of Ted Thompson--overall, his record speaks for itself. This was a big disappointment yesterday—only a “little” disappointing in the BIG PICTURE.
Badgers at the BIG10 tournament…like Marquette at the Big East Tournament—means very little and is not an indicator of what’s to come. Very few people remember what “their team” did in the conference tournament. They all remember what happens in the NCAA tournament. That being said… the Badgers may come home from Chicago today—as Marquette is now home from New York…and the biggest impact of an early exit—is a boring weekend for Badger and Golden Eagle fans. Next week matters… this week is just entertaining.
I will be at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee to see the Bucks v Heat. Two things to note…first- I like the Bucks and how they are playing despite their 2-game slide. Milwaukee will not see the Heat in the 1st round of the playoffs…because I think the Bucks will move up at least one spot in the East. Second-I think the Heat have already won their 2nd straight NBA title (unless hit with a big injury). I am looking forward to seeing the best team in the NBA since the Jordan-Pippen Bulls.
