
While the the television broadcast booth went instantly silent and stayed that way for most of yesterday’s power failure at Super Bowl XLVII, Dial Global Sports’ radio play-by-play crew went ‘old school’ and turned to a decidedly un-high tech method to stay on-the-air — landline phones! That’s Kevin Harlan (pictured) keeping radio listeners up-do-date, while his broadcast partners Boomer Esiason, Jim Gray, James Lofton and Mark Malone also contributed by telephone until full power was restored.
