Will Your NCAA Bracket Be Worth 1 BILLION Dollars?

Will Your NCAA Bracket Be Worth 1 BILLION Dollars?

The "Perfect Bracket" is the Holy Grail of a sports fans "religion." Every March sports fans both "hard-core" and recreational wait in anticipation as the teams on Selection Sunday are picked to be part of the "Madness" that is the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. The tournament is  single elimination and will determine the collegiate Men's Basketball Champion for that year.

Picking the perfect bracket is not that easy, their are upsets...upsets that will bring a grown man to his knees weeping like a newborn. Anyone can go through the 68 teams that make the tournament, and pick the "favorites," but that doesn't guarantee perfection. There are more twists and turns in "March Madness" than Lombard Street in San Francisco, CA.

The closest I ever came to perfection, (it was well before I knew a damn thing about NCAA Basketball) was in 1985 when I correctly picked 25 of 32 games, picking Villanova to win it all...The Wildcats shot 78.6% and defeated heavily favored Georgetown 66-64...I've never been that close since.

The chance of picking the winner of every game in the NCAA tournament is 1 in 9.2 quintillion, to be exact it's 1 in 9,223,372,036,854,775,808. BUT... if you have extensive knowledge of the tournament, it's teams, and a crystal ball, your odds improve to 1 in 128 billion! Basically meaning that if everyone in the U.S. filled out a bracket a "perfect" one would appear once every 400 years!

As far as the Quicken Loans Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge is concerned, if a person who registers for the contest picks a perfect bracket they will then be paid 1 Billion Dollars! The contest is insured by Berkshire Hathaway whose CEO is Warren Buffet. The winner can either receive a lump sum payment of $500 million OR 40 years in annual payments of $25 million. Let's say you're NOT PERFECT (odds are you won't be) the 20 closest non-perfect brackets will win $100k to put toward their home or a new house.

Entrants must be registered by March 19th, 2014 with the registration starting March 3, 2014 -- click here to get in on the winning.

A couple quick important parameters for the entrant:

1) must be a legal resident of the 50 United States and D.C.

2) 21 years old or older

3) One entry per household

4) must be one of the first 10 million to register (registration is free & starts 3/3/14)

Good Luck!

By the way... what's the FIRST thing you'd do if you're "PERFECT" come April 7th after the final horn?
