Miranda Lambert says she got into the boot business out of frustration.
The country star tells Women's Wear Daily's Footwear News she "literally wore off the soles" of her favorite boots, then discovered they were "really hard" to replace. She says her difficulties in finding a new pair got her thinking about launching her own shoe line, so she wouldn't have this problem again. Lambert explains that she acted on the idea because she had the time, and felt it was the right "next step" for her career.
But Miranda adds that she's "a singer-songwriter first and foremost," and her shoe line is something she wants "to be fun." However, she's taking her new venture seriously. Lambert says she's hoping the business will be successful and "grow organically," and eventually expand beyond boots and shoes to include accessories like belts or handbags.
